Architecture of the Museum of the Future
Local architecture firm Killa Design crafted the glass-encased edifice, which stands as a testament to intricate design and symbolizes one of the world’s most profound structures. The circular configuration signifies humanity, with the base portraying Earth and the central void embodying the enigmatic future. Prominent Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej’s Arabic calligraphy graces the stainless steel exterior, featuring verses from poems by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Portions of this structure were even assembled using automated tools and robotic assistance. Its remarkable oval shape boasts gleaming steel facades, while floors serve as the sole horizontal elements. The 77-metre-tall building, clad in stainless steel and glass, boasts 1,024 individual panels meticulously crafted by robots and computer algorithms, corresponding to a kilobyte. By day, Arabic-script windows illuminate the interior, while at night, 14 kilometers of energy-efficient LED lighting accentuate the city skyline. Recognised for its remarkable design, the structure holds LEED certification, underpinned by its three components: the verdant hill, the building itself, and an expansive open space, all backed by compelling themes.
